New Game of The Week

How’s your tolerance for puns? You’ll need some for Pass the Pigs, a simple game of chance built around a pig theme. Instead of dice, you roll two cute pink piglets, and you gain or lose points depending on how the critters land. For example, if both land on all fours, called a “double trotter,” you get 20 points; if they land lying opposite each other, called a “Pig Out,” you gain no points and cede your turn. There are a number of other rules as well as a variation called “Hog Call.” This would be a good travel game (the pigs, instructions, and scoring pad fit in a small, tidy box) or a fine present for someone who’s, well, into pigs!
Product Features
- 2 pig dice, score pad, score guide, 2 pencils
- Attractive plastic carrying case
- Fun for all ages!
Sudoku Humor
There’s a little old Christian lady, addicted to Sudoku and living next door to an atheist. Every morning the lady comes out onto her front porch and shouts “Praise the Lord!”.
The atheist yells back, “There is no God”.
She does this every morning with the same result. One day the lady runs into a really nasty Sudoku puzzle and has trouble solving it. She goes out onto the porch and leaves the puzzle there, and asks God for help with the puzzle. She then says “Praise the Lord”.
The next morning she goes out onto the porch and there’s the Sudoku puzzle, completely solved, and of course, she shouts “Praise the Lord!!!”.
The atheist jumps out from behind a bush and says, “Ha, I solved that puzzle - there is no God”. The lady looks at him and smiles, she shouts “Praise the Lord, not only did you insure my Sudoku puzzle got solved, Lord, you made Satan solve it for me!!”

Last Week’s Solutions
Sudoku for Beginners: Puzzle # 1

Sudoku for Buffs: Puzzle # 1

Math Puzzle
Answer: Each did approximately 3 and 3/10 lengths and breadths. The total area of the lawn = 45*25 = 1125 sq feet.
Now the areas covered in mowing each length and breadth with 3 feet and 2 feet blades = 45 * 3 + 25 * 3 + 45 * 2 + 25 * 2 = 210 + 140 = 350 sq feet.
2nd round: total area covered = 43 * 3 + 23 * 3 + 22 * 2 + 42 * 2 = 198 +128 = 326 sq feet. 3rd round: the area covered = 41 * 3 + 21 * 3 + 19 * 2 + 39 * 2 = 186 + 100 = 286 sq feet.
If they did a full round they would cover 39 * 3 + 19 * 3 + 16 * 2 + 36 * 2 = 174 + 100 =274. So the remaining portion is 163/ 274 more rounds, which is equal to approximately .6 or 3/5 round.
This when divided by 2, is 3/10.
So each did 3 and 3/10 rounds.

# Word Logic
Answer: Jack lost his opening game. From statement 3, if Bill lost his opening game, then Ron won his. If so, Jack must have also won his opening game. However, from statement 2, if Jack won his opening game, then Ron lost his.
Therefore, the hypothesis in statement 3 is not valid: Bill did not lose his opening game. Therefore, from statement 1, since we know that Bill won his opening game, Jack was the one who lost.
